| Okay, I had been meaning to post this up for boogiepoplives's benefit, as she's stuck working when I could be drugging her. Expletives by TehSpookyWaffle http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4436701/1/ExpletivesIt was embarrassing. It was awkward. Worst of all, it was cliched. Naru/Sasu, Sasu/Naru AU InProgress: Fiction Rated: T - English - Romance/Humor - Chapters: 7 - Words: 10,845 I love a story that makes me give my computer screen a double bird. And seriously, this one is making me do it often. The most recent chapter cracked me up. Trouble From Behind by Kisshin-tama Nippi http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4321606/1/Trouble_From_BehindHarry Potter Xover, NaruSasu light yaoi. The shinobi world shattered five years ago, and the pieces are still scattered. When Sasuke and Naruto are brought together for an extra difficult mission, it will all come to a head, whether they like it or not. In Progress: Fiction Rated: T - English - Adventure/Friendship - Chapters: 4 - Words: 27,160 For all that I'm not into HP, I'm a sucker for crossovers. (Come to think of it, I think my brother is too.) This will just about be the only one I'll ever mention, because it's /different/. A very interesting take on it, and I like how /restrained/ the narration style is... Simplicity by wensleydale http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4016685/1/SimplicityThings should have been simple. Naruto was on the path to becoming Hokage but then Sasuke shows up back in town and he finds himself trying to regain his old childhood friendship through very adult means. Who knew sex made things so complicated. Yaoi ect. In Progress: Fiction Rated: M - English - Romance/Humor - Chapters: 14 - Words: 62,639 Okay, this is actually the whole reason why I should have made this entry a lot sooner. I picked up this story really late in its life, but DAMN, the lines make me crack up every single time, as well as go wtf. Oh, and just to mention, I also need a dictionary to read this story. Or at least /should/ have a dictionary... | |

| This game... I can't seem to stop playing it. To the point that it's taken over everything else that I've done so far -- MS, DJ Max, reading -- and overshot it. And I can't even call it 'fun' so much as 'addicting'. As much as people have told me that they love this game, I'm totally not feeling the love.
I also think I might be sick, but this usually doesn't affect how I obsessive I am about something. In any case, I have little nice to say about this game except that I like the pretty colors and animations.
It drives me wild and I can't seem to stop playing it. I'd have posted this earlier, but it took me two days to stop playing to even type this out.
Um, since we get the day off tomorrow I'm hoping to do computer work... and sleep. So this kind of means I'm hoping to hide in my room all day tomorrow.
|
| It's on my semi-interests to rehab the win2k toshiba sooner. I moved it to my room since I need to keep my line for other stuff, it's more important that I be wireless.
I just got a scare turning my little one on because I thought it died. Permanently, this time. Fortunately, it's still hanging on and I get the feeling this one will die of old age first, despite how it looks on the outside.
Been playing a lot of hanafuda recently (koi koi, hana-awase, and hachi hachi). Since I can't keep track of all the yaku stuff myself, I'm playing purely electronically. I got a DS game that can play koi koi, and my PS1 game that can play all the games... if in an unexciting manner (that is the screen can give me a headache).
I still haven't figured out why all hanafuda cards seem to have that one card that says "Nintendo" on it, but if I bothered to look it up, I'd probably know how they are related.
The sequel to Natural Ordermage came out and I clocked that it took me about 9 hours to read it. (I was semi-surprised by the ending.) Given that I don't read the fastest and most accurately, I don't really understand how other people read...
Currently, sleep is for the weak. That is, I'm probably going to do a lot of sleeping tonight, since I had about 4 hours of sleep. I finally unlocked 8B for DJMP2, which makes me go "FINALLY" and "wah" at the same time. Still not motivated enough to finish unlocking all the 5B songs, but I'm glad I managed to unlock Brainstorm (thought I wouldn't be able, given how I kept failing it).
Now that I have 8B mode unlocked, I care more about my level than anything else -- I want all my songs back. That is, Memoirs and Whiteblue. I really don't care for Minus 3 so far.
|
| Interestingly, there are quite a few. First, the more obvious ones:
1. Less than half the weight of the first. 2. It has a plastic coating feel. (Probably easier to scratch.) 3. The D-pad seems to be easier to control. 4. The headset+ jack is placed more towards the middle of the bottom. 5. More awesome colors. 6. Trying to get the cover to use older batteries is a pain. 7. (I don't know about the screen being brighter or not -- nothing still stands up to direct sunlight killing your vision, I guess.)
Less obvious: 1. The wireless seems to run faster. (Browsing through the online manual is a lot faster than it used to be.) 2. A few features are available for the slim only. (Such as skype, although I am not about to use such a thing...) 3. The UMDs are no longer spring-loaded.
Actually, the reason why I picked up a slim was because it came in the nicest color. (The past four colors I've all thought were really really nice.) Pretty much that's it, because the weight and the size doesn't really bother me... and I have tons of batteries. Still, I'm happy that I got one -- now all I have to do is NOT KILL IT...
I'm (obviously) not sure which is more practically delicate.
Currently I'm playing DJMP1 on my brother's PSP, because for some stupid reason, I've got the best scores on /his/ card. DJMP2 is on this one.
|
| It's always the same problem: my buttons end up dying, which basically means that they either malfunction or they don't work at all. So this will be my THIRD PSP, and I'll probably be getting my first new and slim one. The grip on the buttons and stuff is completely different, though... except that my L&R is like the slim. I'm hoping the reduced weight will help me not kill it more...
But I'm considering that I'll just stick with the regular fat one. (Except how to find one that's /not/ black...)
I've kind of accepted the fact that I have to unlock EVERYTHING for DJ MAX 2 all over again, because the information is keyed for each PSP... so this'll be the third time I'm redoing it... but even worse, I have to unlock 8B mode all over again. Yay.
I might as well try to unlock it for my brother's too, as backup.
I'm also apparently addicted to the game. Very addicted... which means it's gonna be a love-hate relationship, really.... although the game doesn't piss me off so much anymore -- it's the missions that piss me off.
If there was some way to play PSP games by linking the system to the PS3 and using the controller... I'd frickin' do it. At least to save my system a bit from dying little by little... fawk.
|
| It's a bit early to say this, but I picked up a used Jpn PS3 for 300 dollars. It's only a 20g drive, but since there's almost no reason for me to stuff it with crap...
It took me like 4 hours to get the thing working. First problem was learning how to get the network connection working (apparently I have to input the IP address manually)... which only took me an hour or so to do. Then was the Playstation account... good thing I already had one for Japanese. I thought I'd have to return it like 3 times today... but in the end it all worked out.
So far.
Anyway, I finally got all the characters (I think) for Naruti 5 (Accel 2). Despite the fact that I've had the game for... at least a year now, I only picked it up for the second time since my purchase. *sigh* I guess that says something about me sometimes.
At least I get to hear Sai's voice.
I can't help but cringe, though. I dunno why I'm thinking like this now, but it's like, "That's child abuse," or "That's gheeeeey." Maybe it's too much MS with the kiddies or something...
The only thing left to test is the 4player function. 1/3rd of the reason why I wanted the system, really.

| Birthday Birthday. *passes out*
[Explanation: I was supposed to have written this a while back, but it's hard for me to even remember anyone's birthdays without people constantly telling me, "My birthday is next week."]

| Got aaaall the way to the end of Chain of Gravity 8B HD with a good percentage, and then promptly failed it. Twice. Also got to something like the 20 second marker on Stalker 8B MX (it's a guess). Trying to improve enough to get to the 30 second marker.
I might have levelled up. We'll see if I can keep it... and maybe someday my ranking on the boards can go up too.

| So through a little effort on my part, I finally got up to book 42 in Naruto. ( Recently... ) | |
|
| My ideas have changed on being a feminist, but not in the way that people would think. ( Read more... ) | |
|
| Bought a handle grip battery charger for my psp at gamestop. The battery thing is extraneous (and heavy) considering how many spares I have, but the fact that I can play 8b mode on dj max 2 (which I unlocked finally about two weeks ago) without almost dropping it several times... is really helpful.
It also might steady my hands enough to be able to do some more taping of some sessions.
My playing level has also improved (especially with 8 buttons), although I don't think that has a whole lot to do with the grip and more to do with unlocking 8b for normal. If they're making a third game, I'm getting it. I'll probably bitch the entire time, though, since all dj max games piss me off.
I've been either reading stuff in my room (as opposed to online), playing video games (stole two systems from my brother because he took my ps2), or playing maple story. In ms I'm majorly trying to see if I can catch up to my brother's level... or something. I just really want to get to fourth job.
...Idea hit. I'll do something about that later, but I don't know if this laptop can take it.
I gotta finish cleaning my room (something I never did complete since final exam week), e-mail my teachers, check my grades, and do some more reading. Oh, and I might work more on Go again -- I played a game this Monday and did awesomely well (considering how much I sucked last time).

| Kobato is now in book form! Yay! My ice mage has a better place in the CLAMP in MS-land guild now~
And there's lots of cameos in the first book: Suki Dakara Suki Chobits (mainly, it seems, but obviously AU) xxxHolic (slight cameo, but it would merge them all together well) Angelic Layer (unknown if AU)
..and I think I recognize one of the random people from Watashi no Suki na Hito... somehow. Maybe.
And I finally see why they waited until book 23 came out in Tsubasa before 13 in Holic will.
So currently these places could possibly be merged: xxxHolic, Gouhou Drug, Suki Dakara Suki, & Kobato. Of course, I just like to watch to see if it will prove to be like that.
And my brother made a fire mage named Tomoyo Ojou. I told him that makes her the daughter of a yakuza...
|
| I've just been reminded why I don't talk about the more technical aspects of MS to any of the other kids online. (Especially about archers.) They're illogical, unreasonable, and only know what they know by following the crowd. There's nothing to back up their statements and while I may acknowledge that my way is not the best, they don't realize that they could be wrong either. ( Long, long rant. ) | |
|
| I woke up (correction: was woken up at about six in the morning) half-dead. I'm still on sleep deprivation and such. So half-dead, I go to my graduation ceremony, and start to die of heat. Considering how resistant I am, this is really bad. Anyway, since they didn't seem to really care what we do during the ceremony much (I guess it's only during high school that they like going overboard), so I managed to eat what I was carrying on me. Anyway, ceremony over, I get a lei from my sensei (yay), and then we go eat. I spill my food. Yay. I'm not starving anymore, at least. So I go to MB afterwards and crash on the table. And lo and behold, it's like the first meeting since KK itself that we see more than about 5-6 people at once. (Being half-dead is mostly why I walked everywhere today. Dealing with too much other stuff like cars or logistics isn't something I can deal with right now.) I sleep for about an hour or two, taking up valuable table space (people start putting their stuff around me). I wake up and suddenly for some stupid reason, I can play 5 button mode on DJ MAX 2. ( Read more... )Also, today was probably like the third time we celebrated Buuzen's birthday. And for some reason, a crapload of graduations are taking place. Of course, most of these I found out only like... yesterday (or today). College: Me, Eri, Buuzen, Zane (I can't remember his id name) High School: Cousin (perhaps) | |
|
| So apparently with this month's MS events, the pressure is on for me to clock as many hours on as many accounts as I feel like in one month. So my priorities goes something like this:
1. MS & Food 2. Sleep 3. Last remaining schoolwork 4. Everything else.
The funny thing is that my mom is there with me with the sleep deprivation. I'll probably spend Monday/Tuesday through Thursday on school... then forget it all after that. Not literally, of course...
|
| I also just realized that I own a PSP for just about one reason only: I can play Japanese games. If it weren't for that, I probably wouldn't get one and just stick with a DS. I have VERY few domestic games for the PSP because... for some reason, they're almost all action types. Totally not my idea of fun on the go. Instead, I have a lot of variety, music, and puzzle games on the PSP... and a few other stuff. I avoid most RPG's because I get really obsessive about it. (Otherwise the PSP is the perfect portable platform for RPG's, totally owning the DS on several key features.) ( Read more... )So yeah, the reason to own a PSP is probably still very limited... Also finally updated my journal sidebar (only took one year).... | |

| After having weird fangirl dreams and dreams of getting myself drunk (with actual liquor) after I finish my work, I'm FINALLY getting to the last part of my semester. I've only got my last CJ work to do (some setsuwa thingy -- nothing is ever as bad as Genji) and studying for my finals and I'm FREE.
I graduate two days after my last final, on May 18th.
(After 7 years of college and 1.5 years of taking time off due to sickness, stress, and family.)
And Showa is being released on Maple. On my last day of instruction (I'm pretty sure tomorrow is last day, right? Either way I'm cutting on Thursday...). I dunno whether I should be happy or upset or not. I expect several emergency patches going through until the weekend.
After this I have two finals and one submission.
So either I will be spending my early days of freedom cleaning my room, reading, studying (err...), playing MS, or playing Star Ocean 2 (I just got Opera on Claude's Galaxy data). Oh, and having coffee. Definitely coffee.
And maybe I'll start /not/ having decaf, just because I can.
(P.S., I'll be showing up late for this MB meeting, due to Mother's Day. Same deal as the past two years.)
|
| For some stupid (probably medication-induced insomnia) reason, I woke up at 6 in the morning and couldn't go back to sleep. So I tweaked Taiko DS.
I am one song away from 130 trophies.
I dunno if you get anything for that, but dammit, I only have like 5 or 7 songs left before I pass everything. Of course the 10 star songs are out of the question, but I'm now stuck nipping at the 9 stars...
But goddammit, I deserve brownie points for that.
I passed Namco Medley, Inu no Mawari-san, Kibun Joujou, and Dance2 featuring soy sauce. My only remotely sane options left for the last song are: Sakuranbo, umm... "Black ship's arrival," or the Taiko no Ranbu -- Kaze no maki. It sucks how it's come down to this. They're the only ones I've gotten a 90% on... and not passed. (The rest are 70-85%.)
(Usually percentage doesn't mean a damned thing, but in this case, it's indicative of whether or not one can do it, when you consider that the absolute lowest one can pass a song on Oni is at 88%.)
And they say a second Taiko DS game is in the works. And it has Saitama 2000. I don't know whether to be glad it's actually a 2000 song I can pass or not, considering I need to be /really/ pissed off to do it.
Hitting right on the directional pad is difficult on my PSP now... which is why I'm not too eager to play DJ Max right now. (Not to mention that song pisses me off more than taiko ever will and that's saying something.) I wonder if it's because I dropped it. (Interestingly enough, despite dropping it several times at a height of about 2 feet, it hasn't died yet.)
|
| I should be doing all of my work tomorrow. Yay, time to cross my fingers.
On another note, I should thank Murinae's (yes, I'm talking about you) archive of Hikago fics for making me realize, yes, I'm totally glad that I kept away from the fandom all these years or I'd probably be pretty rabid by now. I mean, really, this is the only time I've felt tempted to go, "MORE. NOW." to someone.
I'm also realizing why I DON'T write for Hikago -- I don't feel like my writing matches well with the series. But I can only give my impressions.
|
| Strangely enough, the kon helped me be more optimistic about school. If I could survive all three days with all that stuff thereof, I could survive my last month of school, hands down.
And I guess I really need to warn more people about getting sick...

| Currently at: Disc 2 - Field of Intelligence Leon's voice is awesome -- waaaay better than the original, to me. He actually sounds like a little boy, and not so much like a girl... Chisato and Noel don't change much, I think. I'm pretty partial to some of the English voices, though, and I find some lines seem to be said better in the English voicing than Japanese. Some of them don't make any sense, but they still sound better. Having no voice credits or bragging rights thing gives me little purpose in life for this game. It makes me sad -- I'm rushing it, as a result. I'm on 25 hours so far (about 3 days of playing spread out through this week - thanks to lull period and bad health), and... yeah. ( Read more... ) | |
